Over the weekend I ran across a video on Facebook by Kevin O’Leary. (you know, the bald guy on Shark
Tank, aka Mr. Wonderful)
He was talking about why failure is so important to entrepreneurs (aka cool).
He says that every single entrepreneur fails on a consistent basis and the key is to ABL (always be learning) from your mistakes.
He goes on to say that the more failures (learning experiences) you’ve had, the fewer and fewer you will make, which accelerates your path to success.
Kind of counterintuitive, huh?
You’ll be successful the faster you fail…
I can tell you from personal experience that this is so true.
The faster you fail (find out something doesn’t work), the quicker you can try something different until you find something that does work.
Now, this isn’t to say that you should do like 80% of the folks I chat with do and jump from online business to online business.
Not even close.
It means that you need to change the approach you’re using to promote your current business until you find something that works.
(Sidenote: Look, you can’t put lipstick on a pig. If you have ethical questions about the business you’re currently involved in, or worse — you don’t believe in it 1,000%, then you need to find something else, quickly.
And, don’t wait if you’re in this situation. Make the change now, and move forward in your business and towards your goals.)
Do you realize that’s gold?
It’s not your company/ business (in most cases).
It’s you, your skill-sets (or lack thereof), and your consistency (or lack thereof).
Not every method the ‘gurus’ teach works for every business, every time.
You get that?
They often teach what worked for them in a short space in time (typically only once), without testing it to see if it can be replicated by others.
Just the nature of the beast, I guess.
So if you’ve tried a whiz bang, super-duper, traffic-flooding, cash-raining technique…
ONLY to have it bomb, then guess what?
You failed (or the process did)…
Now learn from it.
Don’t make the same mistake twice.
Try something else till you find something that works.
Now, it’s time you get the right skill-sets for your success!
If you want fast results, the first skill to master is the telephone.
Now, before you break out in a cold sweat…
Let me reassure you…
It’s a lot easier than you think, if you follow a proven blueprint.
